46 Clapham Common, London
The listed six storey house faces onto Clapham Common and forms part of a terrace built in 1860. It is situated within the Clapham Common Conservation Area. The brief from the client was to repair the external fabric of the house and renovate throughout internally but also to convert the basement into a kitchen-dining room overlooking the rear garden. Conservation principles were followed, restoring the original features of the listed building, its qualities of scale and proportion whilst sensitively introducing a contemporary, high quality design.
